A great deal of the effort was aided by Joe and Renee Pike, who generously made their Winthrop-moored boat available for censusing the perimeter of Logan Airport and other hard-to-reach Harbor locations. Tink Martin is a marine issues activist, researcher and writer who lives on the waterfront in Winthrop. Mike Fager and Kathy Foley are regular TASLers who first came on the scene (as did Joe and Renee) in 1988, when Massachusetts Audubon, for a brief span, sponsored TASL censuses and drew new volunteers into the fold.
